Privacy Policy
Last updated August 20, 2026.
Roam Motion ("we," "us," "our") measures foot traffic at live event activations using camera-based sensors that never record, store, or transmit video. This policy covers two different things people sometimes conflate: the data our measurement service produces at an activation, and the data this website collects from a visitor. They're handled very differently, so they're described separately below.
Our privacy commitment
Privacy isn't a policy we bolted on — it's the architecture the product is built around. Concretely:
- No video is ever recorded, stored, or transmitted, at any point, for any reason — not even for a moment.
- Every video frame is processed on the camera pod itself, at the activation. Nothing streams back to a server.
- No facial recognition, ever.
- No demographic or biometric inference — not age, not gender, not identity. Ever.
- The only thing that ever leaves a pod is an anonymous aggregate count. Nothing we produce traces back to a specific person.
Information collected at an activation
The camera pods deployed at an event compute anonymous, zone-level foot-traffic metrics — pass-bys, entries, capture rate, dwell time, and peak windows, each tied to a zone and a timestamp, never to a person. That aggregate data is what syncs to our cloud infrastructure, over an encrypted connection, to produce reports and dashboards for the brand, agency, or event organizer who commissioned the deployment.
We do not collect, and have no technical means to collect: video or images of any kind, faces or facial geometry, age or gender or other demographic attributes, device identifiers (Wi-Fi/ Bluetooth MAC addresses, phone IDs), or any other information that identifies or could reasonably be used to identify a specific individual. If you walked through a zone a Roam Motion pod was measuring, we have no record that you specifically were there — only that the zone's count went up by one, for a moment, then dropped again when you left.
Information collected through this website
This site doesn't use cookies, analytics scripts, or any other tracking technology, and it doesn't run a contact form. The "Get in touch" links open your own email client addressed to hello@roammotion.com — whatever you choose to write us is sent from your own email account, not collected by this site.
How we use information
Aggregate activation metrics are used to build the reports and dashboard our client sees for their event — that's the entire product. Anything you email us is used only to respond to you.
Sharing and disclosure
We share aggregate activation metrics with the client who commissioned that specific deployment — that's the deliverable they're paying for. We use third-party infrastructure providers (cloud hosting and database services) to store and transmit that aggregate data on our behalf, under standard confidentiality terms; they don't get access to raw video, because none exists past the moment a frame is processed on the pod. We do not sell data, aggregate or otherwise, to anyone.
Data retention
Aggregate activation metrics are retained for as long as needed to deliver reporting for that deployment and, where a client wants historical comparisons across events, for the life of that relationship. Since no video or personally identifying information is ever collected in the first place, there's nothing sensitive sitting in long-term storage to retain or purge.
Security
The core of our security posture is architectural: video never leaves the pod, so there's no video in transit or at rest to secure in the first place. The aggregate data that does leave a pod travels over encrypted connections to our cloud infrastructure.
Your rights and choices
Because our measurement service doesn't collect information that identifies individuals, there generally isn't personal data tied to you for us to provide, correct, or delete under regulations like the GDPR or CCPA — the data was never collected in an identifiable form. If you've emailed us directly and want that correspondence deleted, write to hello@roammotion.com and we'll take care of it.
Children's privacy
Our measurement service doesn't identify anyone, of any age — it has no way to know a child was present any more than it knows an adult was. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children through this website, which in any case collects none from anyone.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, we'll update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of our website or services after a change means you accept the update.
